CBAM

With the entry into force of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) for imported goods, the stakeholders will have to face a whole new set of tasks and obligations.

To comply with the Regulation, after the transitional period (from 1 January 2026), CBAM obligated parties (importers and indirect customs representatives) will have to ensure that their CBAM declaration contains embedded CO2 emissions data verified by a verifier.

The verification process of the embedded emissions data requires the necessary competences and privileges to perform the verification tasks in the EU ETS (Emission Trading System).

During the transition period (1 October 2023 – 31 December 2025), our EU ETS verification experts will assist our customers through third-party verification to provide feedback on the compliance of their quarterly reports with the verification criteria and principles already during the transition period.
